Founded by Dr. Melanie Falato, Tranquil Paws provides mobile pet acupuncture and laser therapy in Northwest Columbus. Alternatives to traditional medicine for pets have grown in the past decade as more and more pet owners have realized the positive effects of treatments like Acupuncture, have on their own lives. Throughout her almost 20 years as a veterinarian, Dr. Melanie has developed a passion for improving the quality of life for senior pets and those with other chronic issues. This passion led her to pursue education in integrative medicine and alternative treatments. After seeing how acupuncture can help these patients with mobility, pain and chronic disease, she decided to narrow her focus to integrative medicine. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Melanie is a 2006 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine (Go Bucks!) and has practiced veterinary medicine in Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee. She completed her education through CuraCore Integrative Medicine and Education Center to become certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture. She has been certified as a Fear Free Practitioner and is excited to be completing her Certification in Canine Rehabilitation and Therapy at the end of January through The Canine Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Melanie lives in Plain City with her husband, three children and two rambunctious dogs, Oliver and Penny. In her spare time, she enjoys a good workout, hiking, camping and spending quality time with family and friends.
