I help motivated women feel physically amazing in order to stay active, energized, and empowered without dealing with frustrating injuries and pain flare ups.
Hi, my name is Dr. Stephanie Duffey and I am here to guide you on the path to physical freedom. All too often, we accept aches and pains as normal or think there is nothing that can be done to improve our physical capacity. This does not have to be the case.
If we decide that we are a good fit to work together, we will start with a comprehensive evaluation to figure out what the root cause of the problem is. Once we know the root cause, we can fix it. This is what empowers you to stay active for life without fear of recurring injuries and pain flare ups.
What I can do to help:
- Dry needling- This is a technique that is growing in popularity and sought out by many people to reduce pain and improve muscle performance. I can incorporate dry needling into your care as indicated.
- Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)- Not a fan of needles? IASTM is a great and effective way to get muscle and fascia release that doesn’t involve a needle.
- Core stabilization- The core is the foundation for all movement and strength. Did you know your core muscles turn when your body just thinks about moving an arm or leg? We will focus on optimizing your breathing and pelvic floor activation to give you the best core strength and stability.
- Strength training- Muscle strength is so important for long-term injury prevention and health. We will create a customized strength program to help you achieve your goals and feel great long-term.
About Dr. Steph:
I graduated from The Ohio State University Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2017. I worked in outpatient orthopedics for 2 years before starting my own practice, Empower Physio and Wellness, in 2019. I made this move so I can serve my clients to the highest level and give them the excellent care they deserve.
My husband and I love living in Columbus and had our first son in June 2020. When not working with clients, I enjoy running, exercising, cooking/baking, traveling, and Taco Tuesday.
